HOW TO GET TO THE UNIVERSITY OF BATH

Campus Map

Bath has two Universities:

  • The University of Bath, where you want to go.

  • Bath SPA University, where you do not want to go.

Bus
  • The central bus station is right next to the train station.

  • There are regular bus services from the bus station and numerous bus stops around town to the University of Bath.

  • The standard bus fare is ~£1-2 with a journey time of ~20 min, every ~10 min during term time (October to December and February to May) and every ~20-30 min during non term time (January and June to September).

  • From the bus terminal at the University of Bath, walk up the stairs to the west toward the Parade in the centre of the campus.

 Taxi
  • Taxi fares from Bath town centre to the University of Bath are ~£10 with journey times ~10 min. Abbey Taxis: 01225 444444, VCars: 01225 464646

 Car

  • From the town centre, drive up Bathwick Hill and take a left on Norwood Avenue toward the campus. Shortly before you reach the bus terminal, make a right on the East car park. Pay and display or place your parking permit on the dashboard. For GPS navigation, use the postcode BA2 7AY.

Walk
  • The University of Bath is possibly the loftiest campus in England ~190 m, whereas Bath city centre is at ~25 m. As a result, the walk up Bathwick Hill takes ~30-40 min. If you want to avoid the traffic, take the footpath on the southern side of Bathwick Hill. You can join the footpath by leaving the city centre via North Parade, make a right on Pulteney road, a left onto Pulteney Gardens and join the canal tow path to the left just before the bridge. After the lock, cross the canal over the bridge on the right toward Sydney buildings and follow the footpath up the hill until it joins Bathwick Hill. You will be rewarded with a stunning scenery and beautiful views over Bath and its famous green belt, a National Trust reserve.
